Foods To Help You Lose Weight

Losing weight can be a very discouraging thing.  We all wish there was some sort of magical food that can help us loose weight, unfortunately there isn’t. However, there are foods you can eat to help speed up your metabolism and help you reach your weight loss goal.  Your diet is a very important part of your weight loss process therefore making small, subtle changes in the way you eat can greatly impact the amount of weight you lose. 

Foods High in Fiber:
Include High Fiber foods in your diet.  Foods such as oatmeal, wheat, apples.  Fiber helps you feel full quicker thereby curbing your appetite.  It also prevents bloating by regulating your digestion.  Green leafy vegetables are also great because they are very low in calories.  Eating vegetables and high fiber foods will speed up your weight loss journey. 

Lean Protein:
Turkey, chicken and fish are high protein foods.  Your system has to work harder in order to digest protein causing you to burn more calories which stimulates your metabolism.  Proteins also fill you faster than sugars and carbohydrates you will have less cravings.  Some proteins are high in omega 3 fatty acids which help to lower your body’s leptin level.  Leptin is a hormone which slows down your metabolism.  The less Leptin you have the easier it is for you to lose weight.  Other great protein sources are soy and low fat dairy products.



Spicy Foods:

It has been scientifically proven that certain spices helps the body to burn more calories quickly.  Spices such as cinnamon, ginger, cayenne pepper, garlic, wasabi powder and coriander are the safest foods to help you lose weight naturally.



Some fruits though high in fiber tend to contain a high level of sugar and can sabotage your weight loss efforts.  Fruits such as pears, bananas, grapes and pineapples are easily available and will boost your metabolism immediately.  While other fruits such as berries, apricots, lemon, melon, papaya and plum provides the body with lots of fiber and contain very little calories.



Foods to lose weight are available in abundance.   When next you go shopping make a list and purchase the right type of foods to help in your weight loss journey.
